September ’18 | Unrelated Favourites

Another late post! I have no excuse for this other than the fact I didn’t realise the date and thought it was still September for another few days… How is it the end of another month already? I feel as if it was only a week ago since I was last composing August’s post. Unlike last month, however, this one has all the segments covered.

Movies

American Satan
I’ve wanted to see this film since the release last year, but couldn’t find a platform until discovering it on NowTV one day in my university dorm. It’s a pretty hard-hitting movie, exploring all aspects of “sex, drugs and rock’n’roll”, meaning I had to watch it in two sittings. However, I really enjoyed it and have listened to ‘The Relentless’ a lot since.

TV

The Great British Bake Off
Since moving away from home, I’ve been watching The Great British Bake Off a lot, which is odd since I’ve never shown an interest in it prior to moving away. It’s a lighthearted baking show, which is the perfect morning and evening watch as I’m trying to settle into my new home. Plus, it requires very little attention, which is perfect when writing and cleaning.

Shane Dawson’s YouTube Channel
Recently, on evenings I’ve become addictive to Shane Dawson’s channel… again. I seem to go through phases, but at the moment I’m obsessed with the creepier videos he makes, exploring stalkers, murder and conspiracies. Also, his current series on Jake Paul is another must watch.

Games

3max

World of Final Fantasy
Before I moved away, I spent a lot of my spare time playing this game. Unlike the other Final Fantasy games, this requires very little attention or persistence. Personally, this game is essentially a Pokemon game, but with the beloved Final Fantasy characters. While moving from town to town, you collect adorable little creatures as part of your team. It’s fun, addictive and completely adorable.

Music

Palaye Royale – Boom Boom Room
I’ve only recently discovered this band, but have fallen in love immediately. Their sound and all-round aesthetic are just what I’ve been searching for and I highly recommend anyone interested in rock. Plus, singer Remington Leith’s voice was used as Johnny Faust’s for the recordings of American Satan, which makes them ten times better to me.

Heathers: The Musical Soundtrack
I’ve fallen in love with this musical fairly recently after going to see it at the Theatre Royal Haymarket in London; it’s all I’ve been able to listen to since. I adore the characters, especially the antagonist and listen to ‘Meant To Be Yours’ at least three times a day.

Avril Lavigne – Head Above Water
I was a huge Avril Lavigne fan as a child, desperately wanting to be her growing up. So, when news broke out of her return I jumped at the single, and wasn’t disappointed. It’s classic Avril, returning back to the Goodbye Lullaby days in comparison to her latest work and I’ve missed it all so much.

Other

T.K.Maxx’s Masquerade Globe
Before I moved away, my family each gave me a little moving in present to get my place looking a little more homely. This globe was from my Mum and it’s so beautiful. Taken from the Halloween section, which I love to shop in for home decorations, it’s a beautiful woman in a masquerade mask and looks like something straight out of my own fantasy novel. It definitely gives me the motivation I need to write when I look at it.

Moon Lamp
I received this as a graduation gift from my family and have fallen in love with it. It has a dimmer, so I usually put it on as the lowest setting as it looks calmer and prettier, but it’s a gorgeous addition to my desk.
