Top Five Tuesday | Books on my Audible Wish List

This week I’ve been neglecting my audio-books a bit, opting to listen to music on my walks rather than my books. However, it’s not due to a lack of enjoyment, it’s more because of indecision. I currently have two Audible tokens and no idea what to spend them on. So, I thought I’d compose a little Top Five Tuesday post to help me decide.

Five Feet Apart |  Rachael Lippincott, Mikki Daughtry and Tobias Iaconis

51vgmll6al._sl500_Narrated by: Joy Osmanski, Corey Brill
Length: 6hrs 51mins
Summary: Can you love someone you can never touch?
Stella Grant likes to be in control – even though her totally out of control lungs have sent her in and out of the hospital most of her life. At this point, what Stella needs to control most is keeping herself away from anyone or anything that might pass along an infection and jeopardize the possibility of a lung transplant. Six feet apart. No exceptions.
The only thing Will Newman wants to be in control of is getting out of this hospital. He couldn’t care less about his treatments or a fancy new clinical drug trial. Soon he’ll turn 18, and then he’ll be able to unplug all these machines and actually go see the world, not just its hospitals.
Will’s exactly what Stella needs to stay away from. If he so much as breathes on Stella she could lose her spot on the transplant list. Either one of them could die. The only way to stay alive is to stay apart. But suddenly six feet doesn’t feel like safety. It feels like punishment.
What if they could steal back just a little bit of the space their broken lungs have stolen from them? Would five feet apart really be so dangerous if it stops their hearts from breaking too?

Geekerella | Ashley Poston

51kbpoh26gl._sl500_Series: One Upon a Con
Narrated by: Eileen Stevens, Tristan Morris
Length: 10hrs 32mins
Summary: Geek girl Elle Wittimer lives and breathes Starfield, the classic science-fiction series she grew up watching with her late father. So when she sees a cosplay contest for a new Starfield movie, she has to enter. The prize? An invitation to the ExcelsiCon Cosplay Ball and a meet-and-greet with the actor slated to play Federation Prince Carmindor in the reboot. With savings from her gig at the Magic Pumpkin food truck and her dad’s old costume, Elle’s determined to win – unless her stepsisters get there first.
Teen actor Darien Freeman used to live for cons – before he was famous. Now they’re nothing but autographs and awkward meet-and-greets. Playing Carmindor is all he has ever wanted, but Starfield fandom has written him off as just another dumb heartthrob. As ExcelsiCon draws near, Darien feels more and more like a fake – until he meets a girl who shows him otherwise. But when she disappears at midnight, will he ever be able to find her again?

The Flatshare | Beth O’Leary

41snoiorcml._sl500_Narrated by: Carrie Hope Fletcher, Kwaku Fortune
Length: 10hrs 8mins
Summary: Tiffy and Leon share a flat
Tiffy and Leon share a bed
Tiffy and Leon have never met….
Tiffy Moore needs a cheap flat, and fast. Leon Twomey works nights and needs cash. Their friends think they’re crazy, but it’s the perfect solution: Leon occupies the one-bed flat while Tiffy’s at work in the day and she has the run of the place the rest of the time.
But with obsessive ex-boyfriends, demanding clients at work, wrongly imprisoned brothers and, of course, the fact that they still haven’t met yet, they’re about to discover that if you want the perfect home you need to throw the rule book out the window….

The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes | Suzanne Collins

51m9vvld-yl._sl500_Series: Hunger Games
Narrated by: Santino Fontana
Length: 16hrs 16mins
Summary: It is the morning of the reaping that will kick off the 10th annual Hunger Games. In the Capitol, 18-year-old Coriolanus Snow is preparing for his one shot at glory as a mentor in the Games. The once-mighty house of Snow has fallen on hard times, its fate hanging on the slender chance that Coriolanus will be able to out charm, outwit, and outmaneuver his fellow students to mentor the winning tribute.
The odds are against him. He’s been given the humiliating assignment of mentoring the female tribute from District 12, the lowest of the low. Their fates are now completely intertwined – every choice Coriolanus makes could lead to favor or failure, triumph or ruin. Inside the arena, it will be a fight to the death. Outside the arena, Coriolanus starts to feel for his doomed tribute…and must weigh his need to follow the rules against his desire to survive no matter what it takes.

Scythe | Neal Shusterman

51stgoefdl._sl500_Series: Arc of a Scythe
Narrated by: Greg Tremblay
Length: 10hrs 32mins
Summary: A world with no hunger, no disease, no war, no misery: Humanity has conquered all those things and has even conquered death. Now Scythes are the only ones who can end life – and they are commanded to do so in order to keep the size of the population under control.
Citra and Rowan are chosen to apprentice to a scythe – a role that neither wants. These teens must master the “art” of taking life, knowing that the consequence of failure could mean losing their own.
