May ’18 | Wrap Up

This month I’ve been a little unproductive with my blog, my time revolving more around my studies than anything else. It has meant my reading has suffered for it, not having much to talk about. However, I can hopefully spend more time concentrating on my blogging and self-care now I have a little more free time. 

I’ve managed a little milestone this month, one that I never thought I’d see when creating this blog. Just today, I managed to reach 100 blog posts! I feel as if since starting to plan more posts and work out exactly the type on content I want to put out on here, I’ve managed to get some form of order and professionalism. It’s been great to actually work through and decide what to ramble about each week. Honestly, I’m pretty proud of myself for making it this far. Who knew I had that much to say?

Outside the world of blogging…

Although, there’s not been much progress made on here, I’ve had a fairly productive month in the real world. This month I’ve:

• One of my biggest achievements of the month/year/existence has been that I’ve officially completely my BA in Creative and Professional Writing. Literally just today. I’m not sure when I’ll receive my results, especially considering I was given a little more time after the official deadlines, but at the minute I’m just happy I’ve managed to complete everything. I don’t know whether I’m more happy or sad at the minute but I’ll definitely shed a few tears either way when it’s properly sunk in.
• I went to see INK. in a venue I’ve never been to before, which sounds ridiculous but I’ve been apprehensive about buying tickets for that venue for years and I finally gathered the courage to attend. Turns out I really like it there! Also, I uploaded some photos on my personal Instagram account and the bassist, Dougie Poynter, liked them, which made me super happy!
• I won another copy of a book on Readers First! This time it’s the young adult title, Bookshop Girl by Chloe Coles, one of my most anticipated reads of the year. I’ll hopefully read it before the release date so I can get some extra points on the site, but I haven’t read the last one yet. Oops.
• My sister and I went to the latest Dan and Phil tour, Interactive Introverts, which was such a fun night out. We’ve been fans of them for years, having attended the last tour together, but this one was a lot more relaxed. Still as funny though!
• I managed to attend This is Tomorrow Festival and see Don Broco for the fourth time this year. Another anxious gig experience as I’ve never been to the place it was held at before, but it was incredible to see them again; it gave me a break and newfound motivation to get my work done! I also love outdoor shows, especially when the weather is so nice.

My May Reading Goals

My May reading goals were surprisingly even less impressive than April, hardly managing to read much between assignments. I decided last month to repeat the previous reading list in hopes of finally getting through the titles. However, I didn’t manage it again, but I’ve decided to change to a new list in June. Hopefully, that’ll get me back into reading again!

Top Five Tuesday

I’ve only managed one Top Five post this month, but I’m pretty proud of the way it turned out. I talked about some of my favourite female protagonists in young adult fiction, which was a pretty difficult one to choose, but I’m happy with my final decisions.
